Weaving for Wellness serves as a means to introduce the fiber arts to populations with mental health needs. The fiber arts (tapestry, circular loom and Saori weaving, etc.) provide tactile, healing experiences to those with conditions such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and PTSD and other diagnoses. The fiber arts utilizes skills in meditation and relaxation, all in a nonjudgemental space. Weaving groups are facilitated by Ellie, who has many years of working experience in mental health care, activities leadership and art therapy.
Weaving groups are designed to promote self-confidence, creative expression and mental health skills management. Each group utilizes discussion about various coping skills, including cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy, music therapy and meditative practices. The great thing about my weaving courses is that there are NO MISTAKES. Each participant can design something within hours (or less) and have a finished product to keep or give away.

FOR ALL GROUPS, ALL FIBER ARTS SUPPLIES ARE INCLUDED, you only need to provide your own scissors.
CIRCULAR LOOM WEAVING
- $30 PER PERSON.
- Each person receives an 8-inch steel hoop, enough yarn/fiber to fill the weaving within the hoop and warp thread.
TAPESTRY WEAVING
- $65 PER PERSON
- Each person receives a 14-inch Beka weaving frame to keep, enough yarn/fiber to fill the weaving and warp thread.
